These services are provided by a dedicated team of experienced and trained clinicians and specialists in several fields. Many specialists work together for some children to provide comprehensive care under one roof.
The Department was established in 2005 and is primarily concerned with the delivery of affordable healthcare to children. We have Neonatal ICUs/Paediatric ICUs and specialty clinics for immunisations.
Newborns and children form a substantial and valuable part of our population. With the concept of one or two children in a family, each baby born needs better and specialized care. IHR caters to the medical needs of newborns, infants, children, and young adults. We are presently running a 24 x 7 paediatric emergency unit. We have five qualified paediatric consultants, paediatric surgeons, neonatologists, dieticians, paediatric residents & fully trained nursing staff attending round the clock to the emergency and routine need of children. We also have speciality services of Paediatric orthopaedics, Paediatric physiotherapy, and Paediatric cardiology here. IHR also possesses a well equipped paediatric operation theatre with paediatric anaesthesia ventilators.
All the latest support equipment like ventilators, HHF oxygen, C-PAP, sophisticated radiant warmers, incubators, cardiac monitors, separate room for nebulisation services, NIBP, pulse oxymeters, infusion pump, electronic weighing machine, and double surface phototherapy units along with a back-up of equipped laboratory, are available at the institute.
