Introduction
The goal of the Fellowship Program in Reproductive Medicine at IHR is to train a general obstetrician/gynecologist to function as an independent consultant in Reproductive Medicine. It will provide advanced training in the subspecialty to fellows wishing to pursue a career in clinical reproductive medicine.
Objectives
It is the program’s objective that the fellows achieve the followings:
1. Experience in the management of a wide variety of clinical problems affecting the human reproductive system both male and female.
2. Adequate and diverse surgical experience related to infertility including:

Diagnostic Hysteroscopy

Operative hysteroscopy
The fellow will be able to advance to the next level of surgical skill.

4. Knowledge of different techniques of various laboratory procedures :

Semen Analysis as per WHO (2020) protocol

Semen preparation for IUI

Semen, Embryo and Oocyte cryopreservation
5. Knowledge and experience of Ultrasonography during infertility management specially folliculometry for IUI & IVF by TVS
6. Start controlled ovarian stimulation for IUI & IVF and can tailor stimulation protocols as per patients' needs.
7. Manage difficult cases of poor ovarian responders, OHSS.
8. Start independent infertility practice.
Prerequisites
1. Candidates must have completed training in Obstetrics and Gynecology and hold a specialty certificate, i.e. MD, DGO, DNB (O&G)
2. The candidate should be below 40 years of age.
Number of Fellowship Positions
Two candidate are accepted into the program every six months.
Resources
The ambulatory services of IHR support high-quality care for women and provide care for both partners with disorders of infertility. Operating rooms are equipped for hysteroscopy procedures. Embryology and Andrology laboratories are equipped to conduct hormone assays, sperm function testing, and embryo culture. Equipment and experience are available for a wide variety of diagnostic studies, including ultrasonography, hysterosalpingography. The institute has its own wi-fi section for the free use of internet to the fellowship students. Fellows in the Hospital have access to abstracted literature through a computer access system.

The fellowship in Reproductive Medicine requires One years of training.

Academic, Teaching and Administration
The main aim of the fellowship is to enable him/her to practice with competence in the field of reproductive medicine.
To achieve the goal, the fellow must deepen their basic knowledge in reproductive medicine beyond what they acquire in their training as general Obstetrician / Gynaecologist.

The fellow will take an active role in ongoing academic teaching activities, journal clubs, and case presentations.

The fellow will attend OPD and IPD cases from 9 am to 7 pm.
Holidays
The candidate is allowed to take 25 days holiday during the course (one year).
The candidates have to do two days extra duties for every extra holiday above 25 days without any stipend.
Fees and Stipend
1. Once confirmation is received, an admission fee of Rs. 2,50,000/- (Rs. Two Lakhs Fifty Thousand only for Indian Students) & Rs. 3,50,000/- (Rs. Three Lakhs Fifty Thousand only for International Students) need to be deposited within 15 days of the confirmation letter. The admission fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

3. The fellow will be under the supervision of a senior consultant and stipend of Rs 10,000/- per month will be given.
After One years of training in IHR, Fellow can continue with IHR with mutual understanding but are not allowed to practice in West Bengal henceforth.
Accommodation:
The fellows have to arrange their own accommodation. IHR will help in locating suitable accommodation.

Terms & Conditions:
1. Courses and Fees:
- Fellowship on Reproductive Medicine – Rs. 3,00,000/- (Rupees Three lakhs only).
2. The whole course fee should be sent in advance by demand draft/cheque/bank transfer in favor of “INSTITUTE OF HUMAN REPRODUCTION” payable at Guwahati, India.
3. Periodical review of the applications received is made and selected candidates will be informed of the allotted course and batch well in time.
4. Failure to join the allotted course under any circumstances, will entail cancellation of the allotment, Fees paid will stand fortified (no refund), and candidates, have to wait for their turn, if willing to undergo training in future batch, as fresh incumbent only, after due application, fees, etc afresh.
